Remedies - Fatigue

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Research shows that breakfast provides many health benefits especially maintaining one’s energy level throughout the day. Low energy may arise when one has a poor diet or under significant stress. Being mindful of what you eat can be an effective way to keep your energy level up. 

These 2 recipes are my family’s favorite energy boosters which I find simple to make and it’s also a well-balanced diet for all ages. A bottle of Firefly Revitalize drink, which has green tea and Yerba mate, can help to boost energy and improve mental focus throughout the day. Do avoid taking refined sugar. Natural sugar found in food is a better choice and is good for boosting energy. 
 
BEET SHAKSHUKA WITH QUINOA RYE TOAST
 
INGREDIENTS:
1 medium onion (diced)
2 cloves garlic (chopped)
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 Can Absolute Organic Whole Peeled Tomatoes 
1 medium Beetroot (cubed)
1 Tsp Biona Organic Harissa Chili Relish
Pinch of Absolute Organic Cayenne Pepper 
1 Tsp cumin powder 
1 Can Biona Organic Baked Beans
1/2 Tsp dried Absolute Organic Oregano
Pepper and Salt to taste
1 Avocado (sliced)
Toasted Biona Organic Amaranth/Quinoa Rye Bread without yeast
 
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Heat the oil over medium heat in a 10-inch cast-iron skillet or any deep pan. Add the onion and cook until the onion is soft and translucent. 
2. Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the garlic, canned tomatoes, beetroot and Harissa Chili Relish, cumin and cayenne pepper. Stir and let it simmer for 15 minutes until the sauce is thickened.
3. Add the canned baked beans and oregano. Make 4 wells in the sauce and crack in the eggs. Cover and cook until the eggs are set, 4 to 5 minutes. The timing will depend on how runny you like your egg yolks. 
4. Season with salt and pepper to taste and garnish with sliced avocado. Serve with toasted bread for scooping.
 
Note: The acidity of the tomatoes will remove the beetroot’s earthy smell. Do give it a try for those who don’t like beetroot. Beetroot is a superfood. You will fall in love with this recipe combination. 



Overnight Chia Seeds Fruity Breakfast Cup

OVERNIGHT CHIA SEEDS FRUITY BREAKFAST CUP
 
INGREDIENTS:
1 medium Banana
1 medium apple (your favorite type)
1/2 cup Greek Yogurt
4 Tbsp Absolute Organic Chia Seeds 
Runamok Maple Syrup (Optional)
Sweet Freedom Chocolate Shot (Optional)
Kiwi
Blueberries 
Apricots
 
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Clean and peel apple, blend it with banana and yogurt together for a minute until smooth.
2. Mix in the chia seeds well and soak overnight. 
3. Serve it with fresh fruits and maple syrup or dark chocolate shot if you like it sweet. Make sure you give a good stir of the overnight chia seeds and press away lightly any lumps of chia seeds if any.
