OLIO DI ROMA PGI was recognized in late 2021. An extra virgin olive oil from the provinces of Rome, Viterbo, Frosinone and Latina, with the exception of some municipalities, it is medium fruity, bitter with hints of tomato and artichoke and a light almond aftertaste.
Olive varieties: Itrana, Frantoio, Carboncella, Leccino, Moraiolo, Caninese, Salviana, Rosciola, Marina, Sirole, Maurino, Pendolino and Frantoio for a minimum of 80%. The traceability of OLIO DI ROMA PGI is guaranteed by a guarantee mark containing a unique alphanumeric code for each individual bottle, printed by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato.
