One of the most common causes of heartburn is called gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Most people with this problem eat too much spicy food or have irregular eating hours due to busyness. Many years ago, I had this problem after my eldest was born. Thank God for wisdom to apply some of these remedies in my daily diet and trying to eat small meals at fixed hours. Eating bland tasting food is not the solution to heartburn. I recommend you increase your consumption of foods that fight acidity because they are a healthy alternative. If you eat these foods daily, you can gradually achieve a normal pH in your stomach without any abrupt changes, but still produce the level of acidity needed to promote good digestion.
A hot cup of ginger tea with honey or molasses after each meal really helps me. Today I am sharing with you one of my favorite Keto dishes that does have a hint of spice but not spicy which really helps one’s acid reflux problem. This meal is low fat because I am using lean meat and a roasting method with an oven or air fryer. It is a wholesome low carb meal too with the roasted Mustard Yogurt Cauliflower and Toasted Pine Nut French Beans. This Mustard Turmeric Yogurt sauce that I curated is the remedy for cooking a meal suitable for people with heartburn. Mustard is full of minerals and a weak acid and contains alkaline which neutralizes the stomach acid. Yogurt has a soothing effect that helps keep stomach discomfort at bay. It also contains probiotics, a type of good bacteria found in the digestive tract that gives a boost to your immune system.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Research shows that breakfast provides many health benefits especially maintaining one’s energy level throughout the day. Low energy may arise when one has a poor diet or under significant stress. Being mindful of what you eat can be an effective way to keep your energy level up.
These 2 recipes are my family’s favorite energy boosters which I find simple to make and it’s also a well-balanced diet for all ages. A bottle of Firefly Revitalize drink, which has green tea and Yerba mate, can help to boost energy and improve mental focus throughout the day. Do avoid taking refined sugar. Natural sugar found in food is a better choice and is good for boosting energy.
During the menstruation cycle, it is common to experience fatigue and craving for rich and greasy food. The reason is because our body is giving us the signal that we need more nutrients and energy. We should however avoid greasy and spicy food during this period. The two recipes that I am sharing for this week are super simple and easy to make especially when one doesn’t feel like doing anything.
One should eat salmon which is high in Omega-3s fatty acids and can reduce the intensity of period pain, and stop your craving for greasy food. It is common to experience a dip in your iron levels during your period, particularly if your menstrual flow is heavy. This can lead to fatigue, bodily pain, and dizziness. Leafy spinach can boost your iron level and is also rich in magnesium which can lessen the fatigue symptoms. The pasta sauce is light and creamy and matches well with the delicate nutty taste of the pasta which is made of Spelt flour and spinach.
We should avoid high sugar foods but usually we will crave chocolate during this period. So, I strongly recommend this Mint Chocolate Shot that comes with natural fruit extracts to relieve your PMS symptoms. Mint can relieve menstrual cramps and nausea by balancing the hormones.
